Goal setting
Collaborative Sourcing (Cō-Impact Sourcing™)
With a product line of more than 140 individual oils, doTERRA sources its oils from more than 45 countries – more than half of which are developing countries. In order to ensure that small growers and harvesters living in disadvantaged areas receive ethical treatment, doTERRA created an initiative called Co-Impact Sourcing.
Through knowledge and control of the source, conscious environmental protection and social responsibility, Co-Impact Sourcing creates value that benefits all participants in the supply chain. Co-Impact Sourcing aims to develop long-term, mutually beneficial supplier partnerships, create sustainable jobs and provide reliable income in less developed regions. doTERRA is committed to ethical treatment, ensuring fair and timely payment to suppliers. Growers and harvesters are encouraged to form cooperative groups that provide them with collective benefits and bargaining power while developing their skills and abilities.
Quality control of dōTERRA CPTG™
How pure are doTERRA essential oils?
The most important characteristic of essential oils is purity. If an essential oil contains impurities, its effectiveness is reduced and it cannot fully meet expectations. Purity is of utmost importance to doTERRA and is a primary concern when producing oils.
How does doTERRA ensure that its essential oils are pure?
Since the beginning, our mission has been to deliver pure and high-quality essential oils all over the world. Since there was previously no uniform standard for the purity of essential oils, doTERRA decided to set its own standard in this area. Not all essential oil companies use strict testing standards. Many companies skip certain steps to save time or money, but without proper testing, it is impossible to guarantee that an essential oil is truly pure. doTERRA has developed the CPTG™ (Certified Pure Tested Grade) process to ensure that each bottle of essential oil is pure and free of impurities or synthetic fillers. During the CPTG process, each batch of oils is subjected to rigorous testing and additional third-party testing to ensure transparency.
